Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London on 22 August 1995. After a stint as a model and actress, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She released her debut self-titled album in 2017. It peaked at 3rd place on the U.K. Albums Chart and was followed by eight singles including Be The One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. Number One song New Rules which peaked at number six on the charts in the United States. Lipa won the Brit Awards in the year 2018 for British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough Act, and her album has been certified as platinum in several countries worldwide. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha and Dukagjin lipa. She has Bosnian roots through her grandmother. Additionally, you can trace back her ancestors in the Kosovo city of Peja. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. She is a sister to Rina Lipa, and has one younger brother, named Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father, who was the lead singer and guitarist of Oda, the Kosovan rock group Oda. At home her father continued to perform music, including music and compositions, as well as songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics.
